Source(google.com.pk)Despite a busy year, Samantha hasn't taken her annual Christmas break. The actor will be away from family, working on her film.
She swept every other Best Actress award in the South film industry for 2013. Naturally, one would expect actress Samantha to sit back and enjoy a well-deserved Christmas break with her family. But unfortunately, it's not the case for the hard working lady.
"For the first time in my life, I'll be spending Christmas away from my family, working on my film," reveals Samantha. With the holidays here, the actor gets all nostalgic about Christmas she spent with her near and dear ones. "For me, Christmas meant new clothes, carols at night, midnight mass and of course, the yummy cake, sausages and other goodies. Everything feels so different. There is so much joy and love around," shares the actor.
And with the air around being all joyous and festive, Sam credits the magical month of December for all the cheer. "December is the favourite time of the year for me. I guess it's the same for others too, because I've noticed that everyone seems a lot happier, for no apparent reason. I strongly believe it's the Christmas effect," she explains.
With Sam being away from home this Christmas, the one thing she admits she'll miss the most is the homemade goodies. "My mom makes the most amazing rose cookies. If anything, I'm going to miss that the most," says Samantha, who admits to lending a helping hand in the kitchen. "I love rose cookies, and would always help my mom make them. That would be my contribution in the kitchen during Christmas," she laughs while reminiscing.
"The year has been great for me. Hopefully the coming year brings more joy, happiness and peace into people's lives. But for now, it's time to celebrate. A conventional handloom silk sari, the Sambalpuri is a traditional handwoven Ikkat weave from the state of Orissa. Famous for its Kathan border & pallu, the Samblapuri till date is made according to ancient norms. What’s unique about this weave is that, once the fibers have been dyed, it can never be bleached into another color, in fact the cloth may deteriorate with time, but its color never fades.
The Shankh (shell), Phool (flower) and chakra (wheel) are motifs that are distinct to the Sambalpuri Saree.

Madhya Pradesh‘s glory is exhibited in the Maheshwari sari. Weaved with fine silk and cotton, the saree is usually plain, but some with floral or geometric patterns, like stripes and checks are weaved too. The Maheshwari sari owes its origin to queen Ahilya Bai, who designed and wore this first.
