who is a former sports woman played for national level championship for Baseball and Badminton later turned as a model and present film
actress born on 5th Jan 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Deepika padukone parents are Prakash Padukone(badminton player) and Ujjala

padukone. Deepika is having a younger sister Anisha. Padukone completed her schooling at Sophia High School, and done her pre-university at

the Mount Carmel College. In an Interview she explained about her school life, like she has to wake up at 5 O’clock in the morning going for

physical training after that to school next badminton practice after coming to home completing the home work and finally go to bed. She played

for national level badminton championship.

While doing her Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, she got offers to act as a model just because of

this she dropped from studies. Later she got an offer to act in Aishwarya a Kannada film but the break to her career is Om Shanti Om in which

she acted opposite to Sharukh khan and in dual role. Other than movies to support charitable organizations she wrote opinion columns. In the

2010 she adopted a village as a part of NDTV Greenathon campaign for the supply of electricity regularly. For the Hindustan Times she wrote

columns about her professional as well as personal life to connect with the fans.

She won Best Female Debut Award for the film Om Shanti Om by Film fare, Zee Cine awards, IIFA.
She won best promising newcomer award for the same movie by Star screen awards
She won Super star of tomorrow female award for the same movie by Star dust
Nominated for Asian Film Awards as Best Actress for the film Om Shanti Om
